Prize Distribution Ceremony of Mahatma Gandhi Speech Competition

The year 2019 marked the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Spain had witnessed several important events to pay tribute to this Global icon. One such initiative was the Mahatma Gandhi Speech Competition organized by the Embassy of India in collaboration with Casa De La India, Air India, Diva Viajes and the National Radio of Spain. As part of this competition, the participants were required to send an Audio Clip of 90 secs duration, expressing their thoughts on Mahatma Gandhi and his life and values.

The aim of this competition was to foster the oratory skills of the young participants and to disseminate the values of peace, non-violence, tolerance, love and humanity professed by Mahatma Gandhi.

In the Category 'Mahatma' (18-25 years) Ana Marta Rodriguez won one-week trip to India sponsored by Air India and DIVA Viajes to visit Gandhiji's Ashram in Ahmedabad. Patrizia Blek won a set of books on India. 

In the Category 'Gandhi' (upto 18 years) Lucia Espeso won a Kindle e-reader and Alejandra Sevilla won a set of books on India.
