5th Global Exhibition on Services

The Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry,  Government of India in partnership with the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing the 5th edition of Global Exhibition on Services (GES) 2019 at Palace Grounds, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India from September 18 – 20, 2019.

2. Service sector is a growing frontier of global trade and becoming one of the dominant drivers of economic growth, both in developed and developing countries. In India, service sector contribute to India’s gross value added with share of about 60% and India’s overall exports with a share of 38% in the recent years. Recognizing the importance of this sector, the first GES was launched in 2015 and inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi with an objective of providing a global platform for increasing trade in services, enhancing strategic cooperation and strengthening multilateral relationship between all stakeholders to explore new business avenues. The subsequent three editions of GES were inaugurated by the Hon’ble President of India in 2016, 2017 and 2018 respectively. The 4th edition of  the event held in 2018 was a success witnessing participation from about 100 countries, 500 overseas delegates, over 628 exhibitors and more than 7,000 structured B2B meetings. The Hon’ble President of India also formally launched the 12 Champion Services Sector during the event.

3. The upcoming GES 2019 is expected to provide a platform for forging sustained partnerships amongst countries in the identified champion sectors. These include Information Technology & Information Technology Enabled Services (IT & ITeS), Tourism and Hospitality Services, Medical Value Travel, Transport and Logistics Services, Accounting and Finance Services, Audio Visual Services, Legal Services, Communication Services, Construction and Related Engineering Services, Environmental Services, Financial Services and Education Services. The event is expected to have participation from about 100 countries and will host focused knowledge sessions as well as large number of B2B, B2G and B2C meetings. An active participation from Indian State Governments and Union Territories is also expected.
